Problem with starting the client.

The past couple of days, I have been trying to run kal. When i start the client, I go to the log-in screen and enter my screen name and password. When I click login, it just freezes and the button doesn't execute the client to log me in. I have re-downloaded and the same problem occurs. Can anybody help me?
